Blind Spots…

Something we all have but are not aware of and can’t see, at least until it is too late!

Why is that?

Once we are aware and see them, they are so very obvious that we can’t but help ask…how did we ever miss that!!

Let’s dig a little deeper.

How is It is possible for one to be confused or unaware of something rather important, like one’s health, relationships, finances, businesses, or family?

The fact that most people don’t know they are missing it doesn’t make it any less of a problem for them; this is the definition of a Blind Spot.

Blind Spots result from our Cognitive Biases of which there are many. Basically, we seek information that reaffirms our opinion or position while discounting and ignoring information to the contrary. We may be too self-confident regarding a topic, or put too much weight and trust on recent successes, forgetting about past troubles and calamities.

Identifying and overcoming Blind Spots and Cognitive Biases can be achieved by reflecting on outcomes of past decisions, seeking others’ viewpoints and perspectives, challenge your viewpoint with critical scrutiny, along with avoiding quick decisions.

So, do you have any Blind Spots?
